Coaching is so powerful: deliberate questions, sometimes even provocation, can enable us to call old stories, even blind spots can be called into consciousness and be confronted directly. Holy cow, that can be extremely scary. Last time I was in such a situation. A topic that I did not even know what a big Gremlin I have had sitting there. I was really scared to face the emotions and it took me a few days to get ready. On the way there, I went through all sorts of emotional states: rejection, curiosity, fear, desire, anger, shame, vulnerability, openness, annoyance, guilt, etc … and then I should finally see the opportunity to grow, in a safe surrounding. All that ultimately required me to accept and master the situation was trust, deep trust in me. And to speak my truth. That is the only way I can be visible. Only then can I get what I want. If I’m honest with myself and with others. Life is complex and beautiful. And we always have the opportunity to grow and develop our full potential. And that is immense. I have seen a glimpse of it. Life is too short and we should live up to our full potential. This involves first speaking our truth. The potential is gigantic. I think often we are afraid of our own power, which is much bigger than we think. What are you waiting for?
I would say that the most thrust of my life has been about initially getting free, and then realizing that my freedom is not independent of everybody else. Then I am arriving at that circle where one works on oneself as a gift to other people so that one doesn’t create more suffering. I help people as a work on myself and I work on myself to help people.
